Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

Description/Summary of Position:
You will provide direct care to patients experiencing mental health crises, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and consult with the main emergency department. All sites are academic teaching sites with residents and medical students, affording many opportunities for teaching and mentoring. All sites also have strong linkages with care coordination, with innovative pilots underway to connect patients to community and crisis services support. Opportunities to participate in these innovative service delivery and clinical care pilots are available at all sites.

- Overseeing the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care and directly working with leaders in the other department areas, including in-patient and ambulatory programs and the Emergency Medicine Department.
- Assuming an important role in Patient Safety and Clinical Effectiveness.
- Providing leadership in undergraduate medical education, including active participation in the clinical and didactic teaching of medical students, PA students, Psychology Interns, and Social Work students.
- Incident review management, participation in quality improvement projects, and participation in departmental meetings
- Makes recommendations and assists medical teams in initiation or continuation of Medication Assisted Treatment for substance use disorder detoxification/treatment when indicated. Suboxone waiver is preferred
-Provides cross-coverage for Psychiatric consultation to the medical floors as needed.
-Demonstrates leadership in clinical practice to meet Veterans' multiple healthcare needs
-Participates in rotating on-call duties as assigned

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
