East Orange is a mid sized city located in the state of New Jersey with a population of 64,374. East Orange offers daily service to midtown Manhattan and its residents have access to the city beautiful parks and facilities.

The New Jersey VA (VANJHCS ) is a consolidated facility comprised of two main campuses, one in East Orange, located in Northeastern New Jersey within the greater New York metropolitan area, and one in Lyons, 22 miles to the west of the East Orange Campus. The orthopedic program is affiliated with Rutgers New Jersey Medical School

The selected candidate will follow established guidelines, ethics, and policies and protocols of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Each Orthopedic surgeon functions as a cooperative and collegial team member with the entire staff. If selected, you will be responsible for participating in and/or manage all aspects of a general orthopedic surgery program, to include inpatient and outpatient clinical, administrative, academic, and research components if warranted. Responsibilities also includes performing administrative duties, hip and knee joint replacement surgeries, arthroscopies as well as basic fracture work. You will be expected to also provide supervision to Orthopedic PAs and Orthopeadic Residents from Rutgers NJMS Orthopaedic Program along with other assigned duties/task.

Work Schedule: Primarily Monday-Friday, various shifts; required to participate in on-call rotation.
Travel: May be required to work at a different site 1/2 a day per week.
