Overview

AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking a dynamic Palliative Medicine physician to join our team within a growing system. The current open position is for a physician leader at the Adventhealth East Orlando and Apopka Skilled Nursing Facilities. The provider will join a full time APRN and LCSW to provide consultations for patients of AdventHealth in the skilled nursing facility. Clinical care expectations include: goals of care, family meetings and complex symptom management in the inpatient setting. The program strives to foster a growth mindset and appreciates its wide diversity of providers backgrounds including psychiatry, family medicine, critical care and internal medicine.

Position Details:

• Schedule: Mon-Friday from 8-5 PM
• Locations: SNF's at East Orlando (10 beds) and Apopka (50 beds)
• Ability to handle elevated emotions, goals of care and end of life conversations
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to supervise an APP (APRN)
• Occasional hospital coverage as needed

Requirements of the position include:

• MD or DO
• Ability to receive an unrestricted Florida Medical License
• Strong clinical skills and desire to grow with the program
• Board certification in Hospice and Palliative Care or Hospice (if Board Eligible, certification must be obtained within 1 year of hire date)
• Eligible to participate as a provider in the Medicare and Medicaid programs (including any successor program to either)
• Fluent in Spanish (highly preferred not required)
• Experience working in nursing home or hospital setting (highly preferred)
